Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) and King George’s Medical University Lucknow (KGMU Lucknow) have come together to start DBT's prestigious School of International Biodesign-Synergising Healthcare Innovation and Entrepreneurship SIB-SHInE. It is an exciting year-long full time dedicated residential fellowship program jointly led by the and sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India.

Our mission is to foster and empower the next generation of HealthTech innovators and to lead the paradigm shift to a quality-driven innovation ecosystem.
The graduates coming out of this Program are expected to be the next generation entrepreneurs and leaders in Innovation who shall establish new start-ups for indigenous development and manufacturing of medical devices in line with “Make in India ” and “Start-UP India” initiatives of the Government of India. The Program also envisages making an impact in the Global Medical device market by promoting the development of India-specific, globally relevant medical devices, thereby making a huge impact on the Global medical device market, in the long run.
